What to Bring & Wear
Participants should come in play
clothes with comfortable shoes. They should dress appropriate for the
weather (we spend a lot of time outdoors). They should pack swimwear and a
towel daily for spontaneous sprinklers and water balloons.
Participants should bring plenty of
fluids, including a water bottle, a morning snack, a lunch, and an afternoon
snack (refrigerators and microwaves are available). A backpack is a great
idea for change of clothes, taking projects home, and storing personal
items. We are not responsible for lost items.
Transportation
Transportation is the responsibility of the family.
Some families elect to carpool.
You can email us at
summerprogram2012@gmail.com
by June 15th if you want to be put on a carpooling
list. We will send out the list with each family’s general geographic
location to everyone who wants to participate. It will be up to you to
contact other parents for carpooling.
We
have a partnership with Let it Ride
Transport for those with
transportation needs. 414-350-3088.
You can contact them directly to arrange pick-up from your home.
Childcare
We offer
childcare before and after the program for working parents.
The childcare is from 7:45 to 9:00 am and/or from 3:00
to 5:30pm. Families can choose any days and times they would like the
service. The days and times
must be chosen before the first day of the program, and families are
financially obligated at that point.
There are no age restrictions for participation.
There is a maximum of 3 kids per each staff member
during this time. The fee is
$18 per hour. Contact
us right away if you want to participate in this program. 262-510-4447
Tardies & Absences
It is important that you let us
know in advance about tardies or absences. Same day tardies or absences you must call
or text us at
262-510-4447.
Use email
summerprogram2012@gmail.com
if you are contacting us about a future absence or tardy.
The fee for the program is a flat
fee. We have scheduled staff and prepared for your child to be at the
Program.
Fee changes are only made for pre-discussed vacations/appointments.
Pick-up and Drop-off
For the safety of your child, you may not drop-off prior
to 9:00 am unless you are participating in our childcare service.
Staff will be waiting outside to bring your child into
the building, or you are welcome to walk them in yourselves.
We are located at 1455 97th Street. Pick-up and drop-off
occurs at the south end of the parking lot.
Outings
Every Tuesday, participants will go on an outing to Cool
Waters Water Park in Greenfield Park. It is located at:
2028 South
124th Street West Allis
This is our 4th year having a partnership with Cool Waters. They supply us
with special accommodations, understanding the specific needs of our group.
These outings are to teach the participants how to
function in the community, and to have some recreational experiences with
their peers. Here are some important instructions to make our outings safe
and fun.
With our experience, training, and organization, we have
been successful with all of our participants in the outing environment.
However, we understand that these outings may not work out for all
participants, or may not work out on a specific day. In other words, the
outings are not mandatory for participation in The Program. In such cases,
we accommodate by having that participant attend another day of the week, or
by attending the program at the center instead.
Outing Instructions
Have your child come to The
Program already wearing his/her swimsuit
Please have your child come to the outings with
sunblock already applied
Participants should bring beach towels and clothes to change into
We will provide coolers for packed
lunches
Rainy Days
If it is raining on the day of the outing, we will
cancel the outing and drop-off and pick-up will be at the Program site. If
we are not sure of the weather, we will contact you before the beginning of
the day, to let you know our plans. If it is unseasonably cold, we may
replace the outing with an outing to the Milwaukee county Zoo. This change
would be discussed with you well in advance.
Parent's Drop-off at Cool Waters at 9:00am
Parents pick-up at Cool Waters at 3:00pm
