Overview
Welcome to The Autism Summer Program.
Our mission is to provide a safe and stimulating environment, where
participants can learn valuable daily living skills, and have positive
experiences. That is why we offer a 1:1 staff to participant ratio,
community outings to the water park, and a comfortable, stimuli filled,
air-conditioned environment.
We understand our participants' need for a fun and
stress-free environment. A place where they can run through sprinklers, have
water balloon fights, receive sensory input, and laugh & play. In our 8
years providing the program, we have found that kids can do all this and
still build skills that will be important to their future.
Goals
Individual goals differ from participant to
participant, but there are some broad goals that remain the same.
-
Further develop skills interacting with
peers, adults, and people in the community.
-
Address gross-motor and fine-motor
deficits.
-
Further develop tolerance and enjoyment
of preferred activities in a group setting.
-
Further develop other daily living
skills such as self-help in feeding, bathrooming, and following
multi-step directions.
