County Waiver Participants
We trust the methods used in intensive
home-based therapy. Their efficacy is valid and important. However, for individuals with
high-communicating Autism and Asperger's Syndrome, post-intensive treatment
needs to differ than that of intensive. The interaction that takes place
between the post-intensive client and the therapist requires advanced level training, and
expertise in the field. As the intensive model becomes less effective or counterproductive
for some, it is important to
consider other methods of treatment. Maplegrove Treatment Center was founded
on the need for treatment methods specific for children with
high-communicating autism and Asperger's Syndrome.
Treatment for your child might include-
-
Individual instruction and therapy
-
Friendship skills group with like-age and like-ability peers
-

-
